Have you got an old laptop collecting dust? A tablet stuffed in the bottom of a drawer? Perhaps you received new a laptop or tablet for Christmas and your old device is no longer needed?
We want to do our bit to help a national movement to keep children learning. Lockdown has affected every one of us in different ways, for those with children at school age, home-schooling has become the norm.
However, it relies upon every child having a laptop, computer or tablet to access online learning resources. If you consider the number of laptops a single household would normally have, it is easy to understand how this can easily become an issue.
We will wipe your donated laptops and ensure that any previously saved data has been completely removed. They will then be distributed to local schools in the Black Country and Birmingham. As mentioned above, we will match your donation to buy a new laptop too!
It is thought that 5000+ children need a suitable device in Birmingham alone. Many families don’t own a computer or are having to share devices with their siblings and parents.
This minimises learning time and places teachers, students and parents in an impossible situation. Many children are left disadvantaged, unable to study and left behind in their education and learning, which is simply unfair.
It can also have a detrimental effect on mental health. Aside from not being able to access mental health resources, it also prevents young people from having a ‘voice’, limiting access to peers and increasing loneliness.
We will wipe your donated computers and distribute them to local schools in the Black Country and Birmingham. Each donated device will be renewed and repurposed ready to support a local family.
Those that receive a device will gain:
Laptops, PCs and tablets that are less than 10 years old and in good condition.
We are winding down our activity for this campaign. We would like to whole heartedly thank everyone that donated secondhand laptops and contributed to buying brand-new laptops. You have made a huge difference.

The Principal of Bristnall Hall Academy, Kully Uppal, was handed donated devices from Toby Nicholls - one of Superfast IT's IT technicians. Toby worked relentlessly to get the donated laptops up to scratch; replacing old parts, wiping and preparing the laptops and iPads. Here he is, proudly handing them over to Bristnall Hall Academy!
